The Cougars baseball team get off to a good start by defeating Mountain Vista 7-3 in the first game of the season before losing a close game to Hohokam in the second.
Cactus Canyon’s first official game was suppose to occur on Aug. 25 on the CCJH field, but was canceled due to Arizona’s heat warning. The Cougars went out onto the field for their first game on Aug. 30 at the Mountain Vista Middle School field.
The first game is always a must win, said baseball coach Mark Boseck.
The Cougars second game was Sept. 1. Although it was a tough, yet fair loss, none of the Cougars were injured and the team learned a lot from the defeat.
“The first game we worked hard,” said eighth grade James Gilmore. “In the second game we didn’t do our best, but still worked hard.”
“The first loss was tough,” said Coach Boseck. “We will regroup and learn from what happened so the next time we play them we know what to expect.”

I always enjoy watching the young men and women of CCJH representing us well. Keep it up Cougars. Listen for me yelling or clapping in the stands.

  2. Tayna Loftis says:

Thank you Cougars athletes for your hard work and dedication. It is a pleasure to watch how you have all improved and grown to work together as a team. Keep up the good work 🙂
