On Wednesday, Sept. 14, Cactus Canyon Junior High student council members opened up the school store. The store will be open every day from 7-7:15 a.m.
Two StuCo members work at the store each day, including treasurer George Staupe, who is in charge of the store’s operations. To start, the store will be selling grab bags which include some necessities for school. The large grab bags are $2 and the smaller ones are $1.
“To start, we are just selling grab bags with an assortment of pencils, pens, erasers, etc.,” adviser Jason Davis said. “We have a lot of things left over from last year and we want to be able to re-stock so we’re packaging several things together and selling it for cheaper than we normally would. It’s a blowout sale.”
The money student council makes will go back into the store so they can buy new items and sell them to get even more money.
“Money earned from the store will go back into the store,” Mr. Davis said. “Students want us to have new items and we will purchase new stuff as we make money. We are also going to put a suggestion box at the store so students can tell us what we should be selling.”
