Teagan O’Reilly and Chandler Clark have won an award from the Gold Canyon Arts Council for their water color paintings. The students created a drawing that answered the question, “What would Apache Junction look like if it was on a different planet?”
The awards were given on March 24.
The Gold Canyon Arts Council picked the two best pieces of art that showed creativity and expressed the theme. It also selected 10 other students to be recognized for their talents. The Gold canyon Arts Council is a community service group dedicated to promoting the arts in the Apache Junction/Gold canyon area.
“I was excited,” O’Reilly said. “It was the first time I had been recognized by an organization.”
