Cactus Canyon Junior High students lined up in the school gym Aug. 16 and 17 for the annual school picture days. Students that were absent, not yet attending CCJH, or just want a new photo will be able to get their picture taken on Friday, Oct. 5, during retake day.
CCJH participates in picture day every year to renew pictures of school students in the yearbook and for their CCJH student ID cards.
“Picture day is an important day for CCJH,” said language arts Rhonda Story. “It was nicely organized by all the language arts teachers this year.”
Some students treat picture day as an excuse to get dressed up and do their hair, while others dress as they would on any other day.
“I want to look good for my picture,“ said eighth grader Bailey Buckles. “I don’t want to be remembered without looking good.”
“I don’t see the point in dressing up,” said eighth grader Brayden Cobb. “I like the way I look just fine.”
Parents see school photos as an opportunity to watch how their children grow over the school years. Picture day may not seem so important to students, but to parents and teachers, they see it as a wonderful school memory.
“I think it gives the school and students an opportunity to put a name to faces, “ said Mrs. Smith.
