The National Juniors Honor Society spent much of October selling candy bars to earn money for this year’s NJHS Disneyland trip.
Lisa Smith, a language arts teacher, and Carol Dolle, a Cougar Life teacher, organized the fundraiser that helped 105 NJHS participants raise up to $350 each to help pay for their trip to California at the end of the school year.
“I needed to come up with an idea to help the NJHS kids raise money for their Disneyland trip in April,” said Smith.
NJHS sold four different types of candy bars: caramel, krispie, dark chocolate, and almond.
The Disneyland trip is a reward for a reward for students’ hard academic work throughout their junior high career.
“I can’t wait until the end of the year!” said NJHS eighth grader Brittany Wilson. “We sold a whole lot already.”
